The EBVFD was established in October 1947 with 44 members and was granted its charter in 1948. The orginal building was constructed in 1948 with two truck bays and housed its first engine, a 1936 Ford. The dining hall and kitchen areas were added in 1961. In 1987 a large addition made possible the housing of the companys expanding pieces of service equipment. At the present time Sta 26 has 73 members and operate with and engine-tanker, rescue engine, tanker, two brush units, boat and a volunteer chase unit equipped with ALS equipment.
